Newer real estate agents always ask me where I find my clients. Usually my clients find me- through referral or my seller/buyer classes or a past client connection.
In this case, it was a chance meeting. I took my daughter to a home show at the convention center just to hang out (that's what we do for fun....I know 😆) and we happened to go by a lender booth. I chatted with the lender for a bit and we went on our way.
A few months later the lender called me to ask if I would list his condo in Park Rose. He had it listed as a "for sale by owner" but hadn't had much traction. "FSBOs" often think they are saving money by not using an agent, but that's rarely the case. Yes- everything eventually sells. But an agent provides maximum market exposure-- plus, professional photos and video and staging and open houses, etc- and that's how your maximize your profit.
Also-- condos can be COMPLICATED. This one was no exception. HOA's and land leases and upcoming potential assessments- if you don't know how to navigate this, it's very, very tricky- and all things I have worked through with sellers and buyers before.
We provided intensive marketing for this home, plus a LOT of follow up with agents- and it sold much faster than almost any other unit there, and for more money.
Seller was happy and now I have a great lender resource. Win-win.
When someone in our industry, who literally knows hundreds of agents- chooses me to help represent them- another agent, a lender, an escrow rep, etc- it's A PRIVILEGE.
